Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 3, 2025
At LinkMe Tech ("we", "us", or "our"), your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
1. Data we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name and email address. Passwords are hashed using a strong algorithm and never stored in plain text.
Short links
When you create a short link we store the original URL, the generated slug, an optional title, and the number of clicksrecorded over time. Links created without an account are stored anonymously.
Usage data
Our servers log standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, browser user-agent, referrer, and timestamp) for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. We do not use these logs for advertising or sell them to third parties.
Cookies & sessions
We use a single secure, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts are loaded on this site.
2. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the URL shortening and QR code services
- To authenticate you and secure your account
- To display click statistics in your dashboard
- To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. We may share data with:
- Hosting providers — our infrastructure runs on servers that process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
- Law enforcement — if required by a valid legal order under applicable law.
4. Data retention
Account data is kept as long as your account is active. Short links created by registered users are deleted when the account is deleted. Anonymous links may be retained indefinitely for operational purposes and can be removed on request.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
6. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Passwords are hashed. We apply rate limiting and session expiry to reduce the risk of unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is 100 % secure; we work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
LinkMe Tech is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
